Ningbo (宁波; Níngbō) is a seaport and sub-provincial city in northeastern Zhejiang province. The city is situated south of the Hangzhou Bay, and facing the East China Sea to the east.
The city, with over 1 million inhabitants, borders Shaoxing to the west and Taizhou to the south, and is separated from Zhoushan by a narrow body of water.
